Chelsea Everton vs Chelsea: Confirmed line-ups from Goodison Park
Reece James lines up on the right flank for the Londoners as Edouard Mendy starts in goal. Marc Cucurella, who only completed his transfer to Chelsea on Friday, must make due with a spot on the bench as Ben Chilwell is given the nod on the other wing.
For the Blues, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Connor Gallagher must settle for spots on the bench this evening as N'Golo Kante begins in midfield with Jorginho.
After leaving Manchester City this summer, Raheem Sterling makes his Chelsea debut. Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech are merely listed on the bench as they are supported in attack by Kai Havertz and Mason Mount rather than the England international.
Jordan Pickford begins in goal for Everton, and James Tarkowski makes his league debut after joining from Burnley. In addition to Ben Godfrey and Terry Mina, Vitaliy Mykolenko starts in defense. Frank Lampard also gives Alex Iwobi a chance to shine.
Dwight McNeil makes his competitive debut for Everton and helps the home team's assault with Demarai Gray. Michael Keane, Allan, and Dele Alli are some of the Merseysiders' replacements.
